Steph Watson Staff Community Councillor I joined the Billesley team in 2022, although I have been teaching since 2014. In addition to my role as a class teacher in KS2, I lead on Maths across the school, which is something that excites me greatly. Since joining Billesley Primary School, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience of the community that our school is at the heart of, and I love being a part of it. I am passionate about our children - giving them opportunities, experiences and teaching them the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. I truly believe that children can do anything that they set their minds to if they are given the chance. We are here to give them that chance! Our children bring me joy each and every day and I have worked hard to build strong connections with them and you - our community - which I intend to strengthen further into the future. |

Samantha Adams Parent Councillor My association with BPS began in 2017 when my children moved to BPS. I have seen over the years fabulous changes and opportunities provided by the school. Since moving my children to BPS, they have had many educational opportunities that go beyond the national curriculum. They have provided many great after school curricular activities too, for example - my daughter has recently been learning French at school and is planning on learning guitar in one of BPS after school clubs. I have also been fortunate enough to work for BPS as well as volunteering within BPS early years. Seeing all the challenging work BPS have put in to provide all children with equal educational opportunities has inspired me to go on and gain a qualification in supporting teaching and learning to enable me to go on and provide the same opportunities for the children I may encounter in the future. |

Juliet Raynsford Parent Councillor My name is Juliet Raynsford and I am a parent member of BPS Community Council, with children in Nursery and Year 2. My favourite hobbies are reading novels, gardening and going for bike rides. I wanted to join the council because I am fascinated by all the exciting learning my children do at school and I love living in Billesley. So far on the Community Council I have learnt lots about Maths teaching and over the next year I hope to learn more about how the school strives to create an inclusive environment for all its learners. |

Kerry Cockayne Staff Councillor I first joined the Billesley team in 2016 as a newly qualified teacher and since then have been proud to be a part of the school’s journey. Since joining Billesley Primary School, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience teaching in Key Stage Two, where I have been class teacher to Year 4, 5 and 6 classes. In addition to my role as class teacher, I have a keen interest in supporting other educators, both at Billesley and beyond, to develop and improve their own teaching practice in order to benefit the lives of the most important people within the walls of a school - the children. I’ve always had a passion for working with children, particularly those that are disadvantaged, and see it as my purpose to provide them with the best possible opportunities, whilst also inspiring them to achieve success. I truly believe that with the right mindset and motivation, disadvantage can be a powerful advantage. |
